Isn't it weird how timing works? I've been working with a few people on making some signs and little knick-knacks for their wedding (favors and what not) and now since I myself (!!! still crazy!) have to think about of all it I've been doing ALOT of doodling, typography fun :)

DIY: the quote frame
I just moved (AGAIN) and recently came into quite a bit more wall real estate, which means I get to hang more things on my walls!! So off to pinterest (which is where I seem to get all my interior design ideas as of late) and I saw this cute pin
What You'll Do:
- First things first- pick a quote, saying, lyrics, whatever really that you want to paint on to your frame. Being that I'm a designer, I whipped up something quick in illustrator with a song lyric. Once you have everything in place, flip the design and print it out full size. It'll look alittle wonky, but it'll make sense later.
- Once you're finished painting and everything is dry take your scrapbook paper and place it design facing the glass in the frame and put the frame together. Then remove the design taped on the front.
I thought it was cute- but not $25 plus shipping cute... and then I thought "ya know... I could totally just do this myself...."
sooooo here's how that happens:
What You need:
- a frame (any size, I had a 16 x 20" one that wasn't being occupied)
- acrylic paint
- thin paint brushes
- masking tape (any tape is good- you'll use it on the glass and should be able to peel off easily)
- scrapbook paper the same size as your frame (I used 4 pieces to get a bigger sheet)
- your design printed backwards out the size you want it on your frame

- Tape your design to the front of your frame with tape and then flip your frame over and take it apart, leaving the glass in the frame (I put a towel down first so that the glass wasn't just facing the counter).
- Start painting your design backwards on your frame. This takes the longest amount of time and you may have to paint a few coats to make the letters opaque. It took me about 3 hours to paint all of mine.
- Once you're finished painting and everything is dry take your scrapbook paper and place it design facing the glass in the frame and put the frame together. Then remove the design taped on the front.
aaaaand there ya go! all done! Easy right? and it cost me I think.... $6? AND it's custom?! PINTEREST WIN!

Super Awesome Sunday IV!
It's been awhile since there's been a SAS, so today is better than any other day.
Did you know that there are actually
Parrots that live in Brooklyn- like lots of them!
(totally turning this into a drawing btw)
Sydney's International Food Festival used this awesome cultural dishes to
recreate each countries flag- of course USA would be hotdogs
This little lost project will make you feel bad about losing
everything that's ever dropped out of your pocket
Forest Gump is my favorite movie probably ever
(side note: My Grandmother said that she must be a hipster
because she loves all these things and can't believe
brussels sprouts and kale are 'in'. She's the ultimate hipster.)
Happy Sunday Everyone!

Whoa! It went from winter to summer to spring (the weather in New Jersey is the strangest thing...) Things on my end have been pretty busy, working on some new doodles and web work (the internets?! WHAA) Here's some fun stuff I've done lately..
Also- I met Salvador Dali & the Dalai Lama... it was pretty sweet.

Super Awesome Sunday III
New Jersey got SLAMMED with not one, not two but THREE snow storms in a matter of like 2 days. I literally don't even know where to put it. Geeeezuus! But- it's winter I guess, it'll be over soon and then summer will come and it'll be like the 8th layer of the sun.
Time for a Super Awesome Sunday!! Because it's Sunday and since I've either worked from home or had a 'snow day' I've pretty much exhausted the internet- so here are my findings!
Christopher Morris's awesome photos from 1981 of the NYC subway
This family took the same photo for 22 Years
This interesting photoshop experiment
OH MY GOD- get it here
What- it's snowing of course I'm going to get some dresses...
(I want spring so bad)
Happy Belated Valentine's Day!!

Superbowl!!!!
The Superbowl starts in about 2 hours in my home state.... I live probably about 5-10 minutes from the stadium and all I've been hearing since Friday are helicopters outside... eesh!
I thought this would be fun to share though! A few years, (6/6/2010 to be exact) I wrote about when they were building the new stadium a few yards away from where the old one used to be. My Dad and I went to see what it looked like before they finished it and when we got there, the old one was still there (being torn down of course) and I took some pictures and pieced them together- they're pretty cooooool.'
Enjoy your beerz and nachoz and wingz everyone!
